Catalog Management & Product Data

How do I find duplicate products in a large Shopify catalogue?

Direct answer

Use identifiers, titles, SKUs, barcodes and key attributes to create candidate duplicate groups, then review them before merging or deleting anything. Exact duplicates are straightforward, but near-duplicates may represent legitimate variants or products that were imported from different systems. Look for duplicate URLs, images and supplier IDs as additional signals. Once duplicates are resolved, add ingestion rules that prevent the same source product from being created twice. Prevention is much cheaper than repeated catalogue cleanup.
