Catalog Management & Product Data
Should each product variant have its own image, price and information?
Direct answer
Give a variant its own image, price or information when that data genuinely changes by variant. Colour variants commonly need their own images, while size may share imagery but have different inventory or pricing. Avoid duplicating information that is identical across all variants. Keeping variant-level data accurate is especially important for product feeds, filters and AI shopping experiences, because a recommendation is only useful if the selected variant matches the actual price, availability and product shown.
